First of all *waves* Hi! Name's Danii, for all the new folks and for those who might not have known Fiona was mine (all mine, yes, *cackle*). I'm stationed in NYC, working for the biggest little social network you've never heard of, which puts me 1. in EST and 2. with pretty awesome availability. During the day (while at work) you can find me at blueberryashur, whereas I'm rocking ashurbadaktu for evenings while at home. If you know what they're a reference to, I hug you. Also, the email is gamenotifications at gmail, and I'm usually pretty quick on the return. Playwise, I stay up relatively late (later if there's a thread on), but... I do have a tendency to pass out at the keyboard on occasion. Sorry!

Been here for a year and change, still feel like a n00b sometimes, and I have an assortment of misfits and madmen which you can read about below:

Fiona Post
Fandom? Mortal Coils by Eric Nylund
Class: Sophmore
Things To Know: Fiona is coming from the very END of the first book in this planned series, which conveniently enough had the Post children shipping out to school for the first time.

Fiona comes to Fandom at a rather awkward time in her life. She's just turned 15, she's just started settling into her power and her appearance, and she's being separated from her twin brother for the first time in her entire life. She's just passed the trial that has 'proven' her to be an Immortal instead of an Infernal, but the cost of the trials has changed her considerably: she still feels damaged after some of the questionably moral things she was asked to do, and she nearly killed herself by cutting into her own metaphysical 'weave' and severing her ability to hunger from herself. This last one is the big one, because it means that she has some trouble with manifesting positive emotions and it's just one more thing for an outsider 15 year old to be 'different' with.

Also important for play, Fiona has been brought up in a very unique situation. She is ENTIRELY unfamiliar with anything fictional. That means common myths, urban legends, sayings, games, etc. etc. etc. you name it? She'll have no idea what you're talking about. HOWEVER, if it's something technical, scientific, medical, linguistic, or historical (ie, fact based?) she'll probably know more about it than the average girl her age.

Also, her weapon of choice is a yo yo. No. Really.

Liir Thropp
Fandom? Wicked/Son of a Witch/A Lion Among Men by Gregory Maguire
Class: Junior (holy crap, man!)
Things To Know: Liir comes from, quite literally, just before he would have joined the Home Guard in Son of a Witch, though he's progressed since he came.

Uh, wow. Um. Liir's the son of the Wicked Witch of the West. He's tall, not exactly lithe but never really bulky, with black hair and green eyes. Surprisingly, he's also pale as all hell.

He grew up doing chores and pretty much convinced he had no worth other than as a servant. He's gotten beyond that to some degree at Fandom, but he still falls back on the servile behavior occasionally when he doesn't know what to do. Growing up in almost total isolation, he's very much an unsocialized puppy which can result in inappropriate expressions of emotion and a LOT of repression. He also has some of the weirdest hangups, notions, mental rules, and other such things of anyone I play.

He'll almost certainly try to feed you because he's better at cooking than he is at talking and he's found that people think better of you if you provide baked goods. He also generally avoids talking about himself or his past because, well, he's from something of a crapsack world in some respects and people always seem to find it sad or depressing. More notes for him live on his journal (including obsessive record keeping, no, really, of his progress and relationships) so feel free to check there for more.

Despite all attempts to the contrary, he's about as martial as a paper bag and mostly excels at DODGING. He can't fight worth a damn, but if you need to run or get out of the way, he's your man.

Geoffrey Tennant
Fandom? Slings & Arrows, tv show
Class: Townie
Things To Know:
This is going to be short. Not because Geoffrey's an easy character, but because the things you need to know are pretty succinct.

1. Geoffrey does the plays.
2. Geoffrey is insanely dedicated to his art.
3. Geoffrey is insane. Period.
4. Geoffrey is a genius.
5. Geoffrey is a perfect example of art being a reflection of life. And vice versa.
6. He's played by Paul Gross, so enjoy the pretty.
7. But Benton has better hair.
8. Geoffrey is from pre-canon, post-flashback.

Abigail Irene Garrett
Fandom? New Amsterdam by Elizabeth Bear
Class: Teacher
Things To Know: Abigail Irene is from pre canon.

The Lady Abigail Irene Garrett is one of three Detective Crown Investigators, forensic sorcerers, in the New World; she's certainly the most well known. Stationed in New Amsterdam, she manages to juggle a terribly spoiled terrier named Mike, a Lord Mayor whose politics put her at odds with the man in her capacity as a representative of the Crown, a rather strong-willed (but imminently capable) maid, a fondness for drink, her Duke's wishes (both professional and personal), and a level of notoriety which she wouldn't wish on her worst enemy.

A beauty in her youth, she retains some of her attractiveness even as she nears her half century mark. Usually found dressed in sensible blue corduroy, Abby Irene (as she is known to her friends) tends to cut her hair unfashionably short, much like a boy's, which is as much for practical reasons as because she can. While she's not exactly an alcoholic, she does tend to find herself in the bottle more often than is strictly proper or healthy and will often find solace in a good brandy... or three. Thankfully, she can hold her liquor.

She's never to be found without her ebony wand (as long as from the tip of her finger to the bend in her arm and tipped in silver) or her blue velvet carpetbag. The only true distinguishing feature she holds on her person is her sorcerer's mark, arcane symbols outlined over her heart, inked in red to distinguish her as a graduate of one of the great schools of sorcery.

Re her world? See here.
